BK Grain Dryers
In the grain drying towers of Carlos Becker, the main ducts are arranged horizontally in parallel to the alternated openings for the entrance and exit of air.
The heated air is sucked through the fans and conducted through the entrance diffusor, forcefully crossing the mass of grains, descending through the space formed between the ducts, removing the humidity of the grains and cereals.
Becker dryers may also operate in the intermittent drying mode, according to operational needs. Furthermore, they can perform the full column system drying process, with a simple alteration in regulation, allowing the heated air to pass through the cooling zones. The design allows the equipment to be installed in open areas.
The BK Becker Intermittent Dryers are specially designed for continuous drying, with mixed air across the grain column
At the bottom of the drying tower for cooling the grains occurs from the high temperature zone, through the forced passage of air.

Material
Becker grain dryers are fully metallic, with bolted assembly, simplifying the assembly process. Its external surface consists of steel zinc, whilst the sides of the tower are optional, in standard carbon steel or galvanised carbon steel. The use of galvanised material offers greater durability and less maintenance. All external plate connections are caulked with sealing compounds, adhesive junctions or sponge profiles, guaranteeing the absolute sealing of the dryer.
Fans
Axial type fans, of compact and light assembly, for industrial use. The fans feature a directly coupled motor with air foil type propellers, dynamically balanced. They can be located in the upper or lower sections of the dryer.
Industrial Hopper
Located in the uppermost section of the dryer, it distributes and regulates evenly the mass of grains in the drying tower. It has a membrane-type level control, acting directly in the discharging system, deactivating it whenever the material level is below a set value. For maintenance and troubleshooting, there is an access door and an operational platform. The design allows the equipment to be installed in open areas.
Discharge System
Located under the drying tower, it is responsible for controlling the speed of the grains inside the dryer. It consists in a group of rotating valves that measure the amount of grains to be discharged from the dryer, activated by a varying motor and gears and chains gearbox. This varying motor reaches all speeds set within a range, through the gradual regulation of a device, without interrupting the drying process. We can also provide the pneumatic discharge option. Located in the lower funnel, there is an access door for inspections and maintenance procedures in the discharge system.
Feeding and Discharge
The equipment design to perform these actions are capable of higher conveying capacities than the actual drying capacity, providing the system a higher speed to the flow of grains, in case of a less humid material. The feeding process uses a lift with metal buckets, and the discharge operations uses a helix or chain conveyor.
